Mobile broadband offer has ‘no strings’

An offer which will see laptops with in-built 3G technology sold with free 30-day mobile broadband trials has no strings attached, says Vodafone.
The firms head of connectivity, Alec Howard, has reminded consumers that the special laptop deals - which will apply to a new range of Lenovo ThinkPad notebooks - carry no obligation to sign up to a mobile broadband contract once the promotional period is over.
"It’s a real free trial, with no commitment," Mr Howard told Broadband Finder.
He continued: "The connection manager will ask for your name and email, but no bank details."
Sony Ericsson is also offering PCs with in-built modules for mobile broadband with Lenovo’s performance T and ultraportable X Series Thinkpad notebooks.
According to independent trials from LCC International, Vodafone is the fastest mobile broadband provider in the UK, with subscribers able to download a webpage up to four times faster.
